The AI Art Journey

hubcrate (originally short for Huber Creative) has now become synonymous (the world over, except for whoever scooped the hubcrate.ai domain name that I probably wouldn’t have spent the money on anyway)with “Ben Huber, creative guy”. The current version of this site is geared at providing resources and examples of AI Art, primarily created on the Midjourney platform..

At this point, the primary functionality is contained in the pages linked to the menu above. They provide information and examples of aesthetic and style reference codes for use within the Midjourney application.

Poster Samples

One of the primary uses that I’ve found for generative AI art generation is creating lobby posters for NYT musical theater productions.

Shrek

The Jungle Book

Cinderella

Guys and Dolls

The Little Mermaid

Les Miserables

Midjourney Style References (sref) are an image creation parameter that associates a numeric sref with a certain style. The style can include color palette, art type, era, race, style and likely a few other factors. Multiple style references (sref) can be used with an allowance for weighting them in the final picture.

Following is a table of some my favorite style references and the places that I’ve used them.

181 (Star Wars coloring page)
555 (Mermaid, Cinderella)
618 (Jungle Book, Guys & Dolls)
624 (Jungle Book)
634 (Shrek)
1050 (Les Mis)
1175 (Mermaid)
1264 (Cinderella)
1635
2527
5733 (Les Mis)
